The atmosphere inside the spaceship had grown quiet; everyone had all but given up fighting, most had given up hope. They had become resolved that this was to be the remainder of their lives, and had simply ceased any communication with anyone around them unless it was necessary. They had begun the process of distancing themselves, a human defense mechanism to make things easier since life as they knew it was over.
Even Kai had been left alone with his thoughts.
I could barely hear the incessant pleading of the one insolent human being left on this ship that refused to shut up and accept his fate – Ronin.
His voice made me sick to my stomach, his pleading doubly so. I’m not normally a vengeful person, but everything in me wanted nothing more than for Enebrian to make him suffer. To make him pay for all of the wrong that he had ever done to anyone, even Kort. Something told me that I had no worries about that.
